School as I know it

It's like running on a treadmill....running continuously just to stay on board, but never advancing.

School is in full swing. The teaching has started to get more faster. Homework has started piling up. Life as a student in 2012 has just got busy. Well those are the reasons why I haven't been updating this blog so guess there's a bit of dust here and there.
So....recent events. I'm back in Ixora permanently. Mike exchanged with me and I consented to once again lift my butt to the smarty class. And then the next day along came the counselor who told us to change back. There was an eruption of retorts and a debate ensued between the student "victims" and the counselor+PK2 team of "troublesome people". Actually, according to Cik Koh (PK2), she was on our side, but the problem was that the principle had something else in mind. Both sides were correct but which suggestion would be applied? Here's the situation: when I and many other students exchanged classes, the number of students in the Mawar class became few-30 plus. So the HM wasn't satisfied at the arrangement, and wanted us to shift back to the earlier arrangements. But then the student "victims" suggested that only those that came out of mawar class should be reshuffled back. Well, since so many people were already complaining, I didn't bother to add to the heated debate. Some students were making silly comments to the counselor which I thought was unnecessary. So I just started a "everyday reshuffling" theme song for the Form 4. Most confusing indeed.

Well in the end, we remained in our classes except for some exchanged mawarians who I think were reshuffled back to mawar. The rest of the events that happened after that eluded my senses. Ixora is definitely more stressful than Kenanga. the first sentence describes how I struggle to just keep up with the work and fail to keep ahead of the teachers. I know that isn't necessary but this year I resolved to stop doing last minute studies. So much for determination. Maybe should have gone to mawar haha.

Anyway on a happier note, the SBM boys under-18 volleyball team won the district level championships. Huat AH!!! I went along just to gain some experience (that's what Pn. Chuan asked me to go for), know my standard and give some support. As a "by-product", I got to get a break from studies. Well, I managed to experience two games as a linesman, which is actually more of a VIP seat in the midst of all the action than a job. Man, being so close to the action makes me wanna smack the opponents nicely. HUAT ah! This year we were the only all-chinese team. So are we the only team that doesn't use head, or legs but purely hands to return the ball. Proud to say we brought some standard to the tournament. Congratz guys. Under-15 boys and girls, doesn't matter that you loss, at least you gained some experience. Under-18 girls, so sorry you all didn't make it but you fought till the end-really played like champions but sadly mistakes pulled the score down.

We sang this song all the way back.

Well, Happy CNY. I've got some homework to catch up on. No, LOADS..
And then there's march exams coming....enjoy the CNY holidays friends!
Random stuff: this year's form 4 sketch is going to be crazy. Soon Jing and the gang can make anything crazy. :D
Ha-Ciew. :)

Sandwiched

Grasp what you have that is important, hold on to the little that keeps you together , for they won't last.

Form Four life has started and is gonna get into full swing. The first headache for me was which class to choose- ixora or kenanga. I had friends in both classes. One had stress. One had distractions.(apparently) Chose Ixora in the end to stay with some close friends. Pretty shocked at the numbers taking accounts class. Separated from a few friends again.

Two days later, they reshuffled the classes. Reasons? Not really sure but one reason might possibly be because some friends' parents went to talk to the counselor. Plus, the number of students in the science stream was overwhelming. What does that mean? Our year just did too good in PMR??
Well, that really confused all of us. We were already drawing the organisation table and getting things organised so now we've got to just burn those papers. But it wasn't as bad for us as those who got pushed to classes which had different teachers. The workbooks, homework-nothing. It's freakish.
I was put in Kenanga, only straight As were put in Ixora (some were pushed from Kenanga to equalise number of boys and girls), they opened a new science class-4 Melur and plenty of people got reshuffled into new classes. Well, this order is fine with me(equalizing the number of boys and girls, making sure there is a mix of races in the classes, making sure there isn't too many or too little students in one class) but I think they should have at least made up their minds to do this straight away when school started. Look at this mess, it's not worth it. Well, at least some people got to stay in their gangs for two sunlit days (:

So I'm a Kenangan. It I were born a year earlier this would have meant I'm taking Chinese. But unfortunately or fortunately, I am taking that nemesis of mine as a subject. I would have never thought of doing this if it weren't for PMR. Well, somewhere along the way when I was studying for this dreaded subject, I developed a kinda interest for it. So, I'll take the risk. I'm willing to finish SPM later than most people by one subject...haha. But if the time comes when I can't understand a single syllable coming from the lao shi's mouth, I'm getting out of that class.

Nothing much now. Happy CNY people. Enjoy school.
