Somewhere last year, I read about something interesting in my devotion. The verse to read was 2 Corinthians 8 : 14-15. The verse read:
At the present time your plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply what you need. Then there will be equality, 15 as it is written:
“He who gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not have too little.”
The text told about a man named Keith Taylor who once was given a gift of $525 from a generous person when he had not enough money to fix his car. Now, he runs modestneeds.com, a website that helps people bridge small financial gaps. Amazingly, 70% of those who are helped come back to donate.
So, just like the verse and Keith, we should learn to give more and God will bless us. Of course, giving eagerly does not mean giving until our bank accounts are empty. Paul says in Corinthians 8:12, “I don’t mean your giving should make life easy for others and hard for yourselves.” . Giving could also be giving your time, love etc.
So, think about it.
