Ministry

Standing under the noon sun's heat
Feeling the rocky boat under my feet
Pulling the empty nets back from the water
The fish getting fewer the work getting harder
The weather above was the reflection of my feelings
Of the dread I felt of returning with nothing

The noisy crowd that walked along the beach
Went unnoticed by my brother and me
But to our ears a voice reached
Calling us "fisherman of the sea!"
It was the man they called the Messiah
The promised one that John talked about
Immediately we felt inside us a fire
As our hopes rose he called out

"Come and follow me, Andrew and Simon
"From now on you'll be fishers of men."

~of the calling of the first disciples~

*Poor attempt at a poem. I'm not really good. The only thing I like is to rhyme them. Rarely read Shakespearean literature. So, anyway, my first poem, I think. Yup, this is the reason I took so long to update. And my tendency to procrastinate...  (:
