Prefects Gala 2010

24 of April 2010 was a pretty exciting day. It was the day the Prefect's Gala was held.

Everyone who helped organized this event knows that it was a very busy day for us. So you can guess what I did after everything was over. ZZZZZ....

Anyway, it started off for us with practice, meetings and rehearsals weeks before the real event. So, I was really full with things to do because of some other competitions I took part in and projects that my teachers gave my class to do.

Okay, fast forward to the day of the gala. We had another rehearsal at 4pm. Then another rehearsal about two hours from the start of the gala which is from 7.30 to 10.30 pm.
So, I ran here and there running errands. At 6 pm. most of us had to do some ushering (which is just standing by the walkway). " Hello, welcome to Prefect's Gala SMK Bukit Mewah." Yep, that was pretty much what I and a few others who were standing near the gates said every time someone walk pass.

Finally, Mr Wong, my school's excellent principal, arrived in his car and we closed the gates (the concept is that nobody can come later than the principal). Not wanting to miss the opening ceremony, I rushed up the covered way. First thing I found out: my bag was missing. Of course I went around looking, and I guessed that some people in charge must have taken my bag along with others in order for the guest to sit. So, I procrastinated in finding it. Don't worry, I did find it after the gala.

The opening ceremony was pretty good, like a movie. The only complain I have is that the sounds (or words) were not clear due to something to do with the speakers and also partly because people were still talking.

The following events were pretty nice especially the dances (thanks to Gopinath and the gang). The refreshments...well there was only pastries for the guest while the prefects had the latter and mee hoon. People expect something filling for this gala, so I thought that wasn't very well done. But it still was O.K.

Anyway, back to the performances, Zura and Izzad had one last opportunity to sing and they did it well, singing "21 guns". And last but not least, was the follow dance. I didn't dance, however, not only because I was tired but also because I earlier had bumped into someone and bruised my leg muscle. So, I kinda was limping around the whole time.

Now....my bag! Yea, I looked up and down and almost, almost gave up finding it and take it that it was stolen or something. It was a good thing my sis was with me. She asked me to check the hall one more time. So, as I walked over to the sound system table while scanning it, I saw something white. I thought that if that wasn't the bag then I'm going home (forgive me for giving up so easily but I'm sure you would feel downcast too if you had check three classrooms twice each and walked the whole length of the hall four times). The white turned out NOT to be the bag. Okay, I'm going ho-

Who in the world put this here? It's my bag! Right on the table. I was happy(or exasperated)I didn't care to find out whether it had been there before.

Thanks Han, for asking me to check the deserted hall one last time.

P/S: Sorry seniors for making you guys sit at the back. Something went wrong there.
